Adult Activities

Friendship

The purpose of the Friendship program is to nurture the spiritual growth of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of personal and meaningful relationships. Friendship is not a ministry to people who have intellectual disabililties, rather it is a ministry with them. Friends come from all over the city with their caregivers on Thursday nights for worship, praise, music and socializing. We meet Thursday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., September to April.

For more infromation contact Betty Druif 519-836-2307.

Women's Bible Study ministry

On Wednesday mornings, Ladies Bible Study meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for fellowship, worship and the study of God's Word. While they fellowship, story hour is available for children ages 3 to 5, and nursery for babies to age 2. Women's Bible study generally breaks for the summer and resumes in September.

Ladies' Volleyball

We are a group of fifteen women who meet every Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the church gymnasium for a game of volleyball. Last meeting of the season is mid-May, but we put on our sneakers again in the fall!

But it is much more than "only a game of volleyball for a group of non-competitive ladies." Our group consists of members of First CRC, New Life CRC, and ladies from the Guelph community at large who joined us, and feel welcomed as part of our team. So the "ladies volleyball team" has become a regular ministry of our church where all can feel that they fit!

After the game, a a number of team members go for a coffee social, where all kinds of subjects are discussed and where friendships are developed.

We love the time we spend together and we need the exercise. Please join us!

Seniors Alive

Seniors Alive: encouragement and support for seniors - meets every second Tuesday at 12 noon. Breaks for the summer and resumes in the fall.

Men's Ball Hockey

Men's Ball Hockey is open to all men in the church and in the community. We usually play from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday evenings in a fun and friendly, but competetive game of floor hockey. No equipment is required as sticks, nets, and balls are provided; just bring a set of gym clothes. All are welcome and we usually end with a social time afterwards.
